The United States Marines Corp Himn lyrics goes:
"From the halls of Montezuma
to the shores of Tripoli
we fight our Country's battles
in the air, on land and sea:
first we fight for right and freedom
and to keep our honor clean..."

But nobody said that glory would ride a wheelchair fighting for RIGHT's that they never will get and a FREEDOM they didn't wanted...

Poem Artwork

Say farwell to your buddy and friend
when they take him and send him away to home,
he got a Purple Heart for getting crippled,
medals given like candy by the men on top.

Ribbons and Ribbons hanging on the chest,
doesn't matter awarded from what little war,
"the cannons most be filled with fodder"
or so they said, the men that are on top.

Cry my little and younger soldiers, cry,
because they are dreaming of another fight,
where? that doesn't matter, when?
when you hear of Evil Doers, one more time.

War is a last resort, a necessary evil and sometimes our volunteer soldiers pay a very high price to help keep us safe. Little glory, lots of pain.

Be safe,
Karen

a sad truism of war's futile consequence ... if only the evil doers would be on the battlefield, war would cease to be ...

This one made me cry, Georg; it is sad how we treat our men and women who gave their all to protect us from enemies. They didn't ask to be treated like s***; all they were doing was what was required of them. How we treat them is nothing short of barbaric; this needs to be sent to our leaders and all who deal with the military on a regular basis! Shameful, that's what it is, shameful! Very well done, soldier; thanks for your service in the Marines, and thanks for speaking out FOR our veterans! As a sister/daughter/niece/cousin of military personnel, I felt this one deep within my soul! BRAVO!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <

Georg,

Those "on top" have no idea what the peons go through. We followed orderes, and are put out to pasture, to fend for ourselves on little or nothing, with only our pain and nightmares to keep us company...oh, you've penned a strong one. This should be shouted from the rooftops! Well done, Sir, and let me thank YOU for your service. Welcome home, soldier, welcome home.

((((((HUGS)))))), love and a salute, Karla. *tears*

I'm one of them put out to pasture. :(

and when Johnny comes home, (not marching this time)he's the ememy, Before some of those in society
Treated like trash, yes by those very sorry basters
that send him there, there are no welcome signes at the veterans Hospital. and he thought he did his time in hell
Peace be with you

It seems that all many 'on top' ever do is dream of yet another fight, and they are never ever the ones who have to fight it. If I had it my way, I'd only allow those who have actually seen war's hell to get those 'top jobs.'

BASIC QUESTIONS THAT THOSE THAT THINK THEIR KIDS SERVE THE COUNTRY SHOULD ASK, ~ INCLUSIVE TO COMPLY WITH ~ THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA; THE ONE that in the "OVAL OFFICE" nobody likes to read or can't read due to illiteracy.
