One our fellow authors posted a Short Story about his ghastly divorce because the meddling of a busy-body that destroyed an amicable parting by putting her nose on a wasp lawers's nest. Thank God the dog didn't suffer the proceedings.
As a dog loving man myself, this one is for my friend...
Dragons of the night eating my soul
with teeth made with nightmares,
my heart is screaming in agony,
there's no love, only lies everywhere.
Bones, white, like scattered tombstones,
made of shadows is their nightwear,
ghostly roaming all the graveyards
of those that lived without conscience.
Please, instead, say something tender,
not another of your lies, if you do care,
tell me that the world isn't rotting down,
that it is only my heart which don't dare.
Broken heart, how many times we heard
someone to have one and don't be aware,
that the dragons were eating our insides
because there wasn't love...anywhere.
Wow! What a profound write my friend, powerful write about a subject that all can relate to in one way or another! Glad for canine friend!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
Creative approach to a far-too-frequent scenario. Not the word I want, but. . .point is, way too many people are suffering that
kind of pain. Many people would have us believe that love and loyalty are outmoded concepts. They have no time to be tender. They have no heart for sharing. All seem to have lawyers who encourage
them to grasp and gouge. It is horrible. "Dragon" is a perfect
metaphor! Good work!! 'Pea' <3
Georg, excellent pen from the first word. I have not read the story you're referring to, but if someone tells me who the author is, I certainly will.
Thanks,
Dan

I remember the divorce scene and thank heaven he got the dog, it just would have been great if she had left the lawyer out in the first place. Nice write Georg Lady J
Most powerful offering...living in a house filled with lies makes this so much a reality to me...not divorced but being in a bad place...I can feel this agony!!

This is a powerful piece, my friend. And very sadly, those dragons are often very powerful. And when stinging wasp lawyers get involved, it seems things just get worse and worse.
As Alexandra says, sometimes about all we can do is flee those dragons and the stinging lawyers, and move on.
Thanks very much for this profound poem, and thank God the dog made it through!
I read the story you refer to in this poignant poem, my dear friend, and thought of many other similar true stories, some with similar, some with diverse conclusions. There are many cases when divorce, or separation, may be the only option, if – for innumerable possible reasons and circumstances, that more often than not pertain, essentially, to the ones involved, their own evolution as individuals, and their interaction with each other, also as individuals, within a shared project of life – the relationship has degraded to a point where the couple can no longer survive as such. And these may be the cases when, paradoxical as this may seem, divorce or separation may become the only solution if a good relationship is to be preserved, beyond the one which has become impracticable – a different, yet cherished relationship of two people who have shared many significant experiences, who share many fond memories, and who respect and feel love for each other, in spite of their divergences. When this is the case… there are no lawyers, or indeed anybody or anything else that will turn such true affection, and people’s wholeheartedly true interest in its preservation beyond their differences, into a lie.

An outstanding composition. "Of Love Made with Lies" shows a sad picture of
hamanity, and paints it with great imagery with the colors of reality.
I salute You, Poet.
