He can't remember after waiting for so long...
She didn't only went, but she took with her the abillity to remember her, like a knive left behind inside of the primal wound, not to remember her but to remember with pain, her absence...

Poem Artwork

Fading away the memory of her face
he couldn’t now that smile to recall
like the lines on those browning letters
where she telling about her feeling wrote
wrinkled paper with the musty odor of age,
with pale ink taking the color of dry blood,
like the one hardening in his heart
because of the absence of all her love;

their Summer of tenderness now cooling
by the arrival of that feared so much, Fall,
with the dry and yellow leaves dropping
like insincere tears coming from a troll
that used magic to attract the naive lover
punishing his innocence with rejection,
it is not what was in that last written letter
but what really was said behind the words;

looking down, despair is too blind to see
if the abyss have a bottom, jump and fall,
let the man unhindered fly to his dead,
he will feel like and angel, that’s because,
freedom from pain and Winter’s solitude
which would put on his head white snow
without fingers to get tenderly entangled
as he with her company could get very old;

he close his eyes trying to remember, can’t,
even that little of all her smiles can recall,
her delicate hands holding jasmines, or when
she called his name, the timbre of her voice;
because she never said goodbye you see…
one day she was there, the next she was gone,
and he waited, and waited all those years,
and now, only the abyss is left, and being old.

Tears fall as I read this - thinking that as I grow older, I will not have the joy of my sons. You have opened a flood of emotions [for me and for those who long for a loved one]. I wish and pray for peace and love to always surround you.

God bless you. Kathy

Them, your rose pedals falling like tears, only the centre left, now old and dying, very deep pool of emotions you are swimming in my friend!

Georg you say so much in your words and sink within my heart. Sometimes love hurts and the pain of losing it can cause us to want to set it as far back in our memory that it hard for us to recall, thank you for sharing.

Sadly, there are many who live in such darkness and dispair, here today, gone tomorrow and many forgotten altogether. Vivid pictures fill my mind as I sit here trying to absorb all you are conveying....

Be always safe,
Karen

You do such a fabulous job of penning living emotions... or in this case, maybe dying emotions...
There is much to love about this piece. Great write!

So very, very sad, Brother, and a tale told by many sad souls, down through the ages.

(((Georg)))

This one hurts - only those who've experienced loss can effectively pen it in verse - or feel it as deeply as you - i - do - well done -

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Oh Brother,
If only you knew the pain of loneliness
Within this write you have said it all
brilliant in it's composition.
my lovely Mrs. Went North a thousand miles away, comforting her
Dying Mother and Im' left within four walls of memories
I had wrote a piece I was contemplating to post
now you inspired me to do so.
but it's nothing compare to this masterpiece of loneliness
you have presented here.
Peace be with you Brother
