Only those that entered a suddenly empty house will know.

Absence covers the heart with sadness shroud,

you enter spaces full of emptiness that before

where full of noises and most delicate scents,
but that was earlier, now love is just a corpse.

Coming back from that nowhere and hearing,
the house’s heart are not beating and no blood
is pumping to make it alive, crack are showing
of despair, in the masonry covering the walls.

Sadness eyes aren’t looking, trembling hands
open one of those letters that are getting brown,
as cruel fingers made of the coldest ice will stab
with every letter forming a blade of every word.

Dreams of yesterday, emotions flying very high,
to where all was possible, tenderness and hope,
no wings were burned for flying so near the sun,
love make you an angel, and angels don’t fall.

Now, just an empty room full of empty space,
the witches of absence cackling, smiles no more,
as if awakening inside a demoniacal ice cathedral
where even flames of the burning fire are cold.

The only sound heard is when the broken echoes
of many promises of forever hit hard the floor
whit the finality of a end of a tunnel to nowhere,
you will feel no more alive, you will feel alone.

Going through many ghost towns in New Mexico - you can feel the sadness. I look at the small town where my Dad grew up. Nothing left of the laughter and hard work. Only a once a year celebration of those who remember.

God bless you. Kathy

Georg, this piece so reminded me of my return home several years ago to find the home of my youth crumbling amidst the death of the old neighborhood and death of Detroit the city of my youth. The sadness is so real and this piece so excellent.PLB&G for caring and sharing. Mikii

I like all twenty-lines that form the six stanzas of "Drops of Sadness", but the penultimate stanza made me read it three times. It has a reamarkable impressive and unique symbolism.

"Now, just an empty room full of empty space,
the witches of absence cackling, smiles no more,
as if awakening inside a demoniacal ice cathedral
where even flames of the burning fire are cold."

I salute You, Poet.

In admiration,

A love that dwelled,
no longer there
a soul that once sang
happy songs
now is soaked in tears
Only the void echoes
remains
of the laughters
of yesteryears.
Peace Brother

Though sad this is a stunning peice that captures perfectly that utter futility of lost love and the feeling that life has stopped and the world has deserted you. Very well done.

A sadness that can only come from within envelops this piece as the realities become so clear, spectacular.....

The subject matter and imagery jolts one into the realization of what is important in this life, and how loss can rage against the soul. Also, the deft juxtaposing of certain imagery creates a kind of introspective spiritual tension.

Emptiness a sad space, hope broken, but your Angels have wings that don't burn, the passing of spirit and time, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, this is a deeply sad indeed and most poignant.

Having gone through that once in my life, I sadly know. And this is truly a sad piece, Brother.
