Yes, I categorized this one as a drama, because unlike Wiston Churchill's words, in today's America very few did so much wrong for the detriment of so many.
And the soldiers that felt did give all for a few that gave nothing.

Circus Romano, berserk the plebe are
to please with their screams the Emperor,
as in the arena patiently are waiting
those that would die, the gladiators.

The new Emperor is telling everybody
look at what I am looking for, new clothes,
made of “weave of mass construction”
where black are the color of my gold.

The Emperor had a rich solid Empire
but now “that” new clothes for the poor,
everyday his gladiators go on fighting
the black gold takes the color of blood..

But the Circus Romano is now crumbling
the coffers are getting empty, behold!
he converted a powerful Nation to a
pitiful one that nobody respects anymore,
for those, his new clothes, that no one saw.

Written a year ago but prophetically correct! "The War for Oil" in Iraq seem manipulated by the "Big Players" and has cost the US a great chunk of its wealth as a nation. War is always expensive, and the rebuilding after (paybacks) are even more suicidal. Your poem ask the questions were the wars of Rome really necessary? (Is it right to go into war - then run out of bullets in the middle of battle?)

All wars are devils work and are based on greed. They lead to destruction and poverty

Sadly... there is so much apathy...
and so few truly understand the Constitution that our country is built upon...or was built upon.

Ya know one strange thing, Georg? I can't find ONE person that admits they supported and selected this/these "Emperor[s]" into power...howcome. It's time for a peaceful revolution in our country, and I know many GOOD "plebes" that would join. Love your bold poem...we need this.

Blessings and Appreciations ~~Micke

When one does not respect another how can they expect for others to respect them...we are a Nation losing the respect of the world over a commodity that spreads death upon the innocent...

Black Gold takes the color of blood. Very sadly, this will now continue until we've squeezed every last ounce of black gold out of Mother Earth. And when that finally happens, than yellow corn or another alternative fuel will then take the color of blood. Truly, truly sad, brother.

God help us!! We need a spiritual revival, a return to the Biblical principles upon which our (once) great nation was founded! Excellent eye opening write, Georg; bravo!

A poetic-political Voice complying with the Poetry's tasks, "Destroying a Nation" calls for social and political awareness.

The two Game MASTERS have three gladiators' keepers who are promising bread, broadway shows, hollywood jobs and wine when they become Centurion.

As long as we don't understand the game of the Game Masters, we won't be able to escape from their sadistic actions.

As long as we ignore the Constitution of The United States of America, the two Game Masters will keep the Circus busy.

When people understand that we must supervise our Congresspersons; that we must make them obey the Constitution USA in order to have a legal country, we will have a real President, and the OVAL OFFICE will return to be the honorable image of THE PRESIDENCY.
