Have you have had that nightmarish landscape were you are bogged down in quicksands and nobody around to help you?
Or trapped between the rails as a runaway train are coming barreling on to you as you scream, Stop! Stop! as you wake up screaming?
Have you lost it along the way in your entire life, that precious love, that brought you to inconsolable tears falling on your pillow and wake up and revive all over the pain because that love wasn't there?

Poem Artwork

He ran, with all his legs could
because she was in that train
going away, abandoning him,
he ran trying to reach that train,
then suddenly realizing that it
wasn’t moving, it was quiet,
like on the ground a dead snake,
a nightmarish realization
that all of it was his nightmare,
he was running, he was getting
away from the unmoving train,
it was him the one running away.

He had run so hard trying to reach
clenching teeth, pain on the face,
that was now covered in sweat and
deep of frustration bitter tears,
if he was dreaming he want to wake
if he was not, he just wanted death,
because his heart could not more
and his lungs were out of breath,
he was still running towards her
and yet, getting away, no stopping,
without a flying moment, ethereal,
wanted to tell her of is love, eternal.

Suddenly back him a hysterical howl,
a steam locomotive saying good bye
and the churning noises of movement,
after the loco the long string of pearls
with so many dreams inside each one
like his never fulfilled little dreams,
he kept on running, couldn’t now stop
as the train was gaining the powerful
of all the saddest goodbyes momentum,
inside his chest was the crying call
with her name approaching his lips,
it was too late, the train was gone.

Georg this isn't a dream it's a nightmare. Vanishing Love is one of your epic poems. It is filled with many metaphors and deep emotions, filling this reader with an intense feeling of unfulfilled love. Many things can be interpreted here, but the one thing that stands out in my mind is the fact that love did get away. Learning that, can soften the next time. Hopefully the next time will be the right time.
Much peace, love, and light,
Amber "V"

I love how your words captured
The emotions and fear of a vanishing love
You captured the deep anxiety one feels in the pit of
the heart brought by the fear
that it could be real
Everyone's nightmare
Magnificent write!!
Sending you Peace Love and Light....Yolie

Georg - Love the paradox of this dream poem. He is chasing love, yet he realizes

it was him the one running away.

Also liked the images of:

and the churning noises of movement,
after the loco the long string of pearls
with so many dreams inside each one
like his never fulfilled little dreams,

In the end the reality switches again and he is left:

with her name approaching his lips,
it was too late, the train was gone.

Y e s, and Y e s again~!! You make us feel it, Georg. The joy
a n d the pain. The panic, the anxiety, the feeling of abandonment, the just-plain-fear. The despair that comes when you run and run and yet don't catch up.

Oh! my dear friend Georg, nothing is lost in life, she seems to be the right one but if she left the scene this confirmed that she is not destined one. The one you described is still there awaiting for the right time to appear like a lightning in a winter storm. Alas our choosing criteria depend on many factors and no one knows which one is the right one. The way you described it shows that this one has left an imprint in your brilliant mind and the same time her presence instills in your heart a great feeling that on earth we call love. But you will still encounter the right one born from the same spark and you will know her like you know yourself. The real love is completely different and rare are on earth those who can take its magnetic power which can shake the strongest man on earth. Wait for the next train she will be there with a smile waiting for you. The moment you see her you will say to yourself what a bad dream this was, and how could I have made such a mistake.
You are a great "romancier" Well done, keep going this is the great side of you that I start to discover.
La vie est belle malgre tout et rien ne vaut de la gaspiller ni de la perdre. C'est divin! Love Emile

We face so many ups and downs, comforts and discomforts in life and to learn how to roll with the punches is a lesson learned in perseverance and inner strength. Many, many truths in thise lines....

Interestingly expressed Georg...you combine the scenarios of a dreamscape reality with the reality of a lost love...a recurring nightmarish ordeal of running to catch and running to escape...

nice work...

I agree with Jersey, stop drinking that stuff especially before going to bed, now I remember having a simular dream where my love was hiding under the bed, and when I woke and looked, there was the monster, scary stuff, I remember drinking Coors then too ha
