Mindless Love

With my customary "rattling the bars of your cage" I will ask:
Make two lies halves one whole truth? if not, why so many parents are feeding their children with it?
And why their children are feeding their own children with it?
I read somewhere that parents should be ripe juicy fruits, not nuts!

Poem Artwork

And the father said to the son,
“I love you so much my little boy”
and the child believed him
hearing truth in the father’s voice,
until that day, when he wanted proof
discovering that truth was no more,
never been, just a manner of speech,
which many sons had heard before.

And the mother say to the son,
“I love you so much my little boy”
and the child believed her
hearing truth in his mother’s voice,
until that day, when he wanted proof
discovering that truth was no more,
never been, just a manner of speech,
which many sons had heard before.

And the son said to his son,
“I love you so much my little boy
that I wish it could be the truth,
but the truth wasn’t ever a joy,
until the day you want the proof
discovering that truth was no more,
never been, just a manner of speech,
which many sons had heard before.”

UNFORTUNATELY, CHILDREN ARE THE 'PRODUCTS' OF THEIR PARENTS. WITHOUT EVEN REALIZING IT, CHILDREN TAKE ON THE PERSONALITY TRAITS OF THEIR PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN TAKE ON THEIR PERSONALITY TRAITS AND....ETC, ETC, ETC. SO THEN THIS IS MY ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTIONS AND THE ONLY THING THAT CAN STOP THE 'WHEEL' FROM PRODUCING 'AFFECTED' CHILDREN IS GOD. I BET YOU KNEW...I WAS GOING TO SAY THIS...RIGHT??? BUT IT IS TRUE...HE IS THE ONLY ONE TO 'STOP' THE SAD CYCLE. MINDLESS LOVE...DONE VERY WELL AND ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS. LOVE, JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

The truth in what you write boggles my mind. How incredibly sad.

Reminds me a little of the old song "Cats in the Cradle." Love for our children should be unconditional. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case.

You bring your point very sharply into focus by repeating it from different sources: Father/Mother/self as father. It makes me very aware of times when I've used "love" basically as a word, rather than as an action. And all too often, I think we use it that way, which is a shame, as it's so worn out, that it hardly has any meaning at all.

"Love" as an emotion, has been equally worn out and abused too many times. But "Love" as an action-- as a VERB rather than as a noun, is still in mint condition. Let's gnaw on those corners a bit--make it old and cuddly--wear it down, but never out. --Charlie

We say we "love" but we mean many things by that... or nothing. I firmly believe we are all products of our childhood deep down and our adult behaviour reflects what we have received and learned from a very early age about life and relationships. And in our current culture, we have learned to love others not so much sacrificially, but in as far as we "can" or "want to"; i.e. I love YOU but I love ME better or worse, and I can only operate out of my own self-centredness in my response to you. Brilliantly crafted, Georg. The stark repetitions really bring your message home: the cycle indeed repeats generation on generation. xx

I've often wondered why, if she loved me so much, she kicked me out of her hospital room where she later died. Perhaps your poem here has the answer at last. Rebecca

Love is all too often confused by the present ideas of it, the constructs of emotional ties to common held beliefs. Real love is doing what is utmost possible with the momentary insight and lots of effort, and many tears, far to many confuse the sexual act with love, the romanticing of love in our culture in many ways has contributed to that. "Victims", of these confusions are plenty!
Here is looking at you! Jasmin Horst

To all who have been victims of child abuse in some way (verbal, physical)
Georg's poem rings true..If you have been loved and nurtured and truly secure and felt trust all your childhood, you may not be able to relate to this poem..and think like Victoria thinks..it is an unthinkable crime against your own child when there is abuse involved...parents do lie.

The only thing that the abused child can do is live with the unspeakable pain, and try and not continue the madness, by getting help and not repeating all that has been done!

Much peace, love, and angel light to guide all that are in need,

I have to sadly concur ... Georg, this is painful to read. An approximately six year old boy, with special needs, should not be abandoned to die lonely in the woods, as what happened with Wylie (TX)'s Angel. Where is the outrage? Where are the parents? No one knows.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

Sadly Vic, Georg is right, there are far too many parents who say they love their children yet in reality to them it is just a figure of speech as intimate as Have a great day!". All we have to do is look at the number of child abuses that occur every single day around the world. I do believe the majority of parents, and I consider myself one, do say it and mean it but the others sadly are the ones that make headlines. You will never see a headline that reads:
"Father Loves His Little Girl and Gives Her Hugs and Kisses EVery Day".
As for adults...yes lust and love can combine but one can be mistake for the other if they are not.
Great poem to make one thing and want to respond to Georg.

I don't believe that Georg..at all :(
people don't say "I Love You" to a child if they don't mean it...
Why would they? Some adults do it to each other though since they confuse lust with love. I myself say I Lust You...if that is what I feel...and Love? Oh...Love lasts so much longer...
But to tell a child you love them when you don't?
I would say that or those few people who do that are mentally & emotionally disabled big time...

...let me grap my pliars to remove stakes & thorns from that person

Is love is a constructed discourse of mental propogandaor a concrete entity that exists within our creation? Well I believe the opposite as otherwise it wouldn´t have transcended from generation to generation. Great poem.
