people, sometimes, are caged inside themselves, tortured, repressing themselves of telling the whole world about their pain, but then...it gets too heavy, too excruciating, and the howls come...
Caged humanity, howling in utterly despair,
man made cocoon shadows all of them inside,
the unlighted dungeon are Devil’s conception
God was the only one out there holding Light,
they aren’t the angels rattling on man’s cages,
cos in His Universe there aren’t good or bad,
just mindless children without understanding
that breathing wasn’t granted for them to have.
Wolves howling at the moon, former eagles
that roamed over mountains in a previous life,
or the wailing of prairies coyotes everywhere
lamenting themselves the lack of tender lambs,
sometimes the wind will arrive here ululating
complains from far away places forgotten now,
where willow trees let down their green hair
until Jack Frost came filling everything with ice.
The fabric of nightmares, like Munch’s Scream,
a human being howling in utterly despair of man,
emerging from the fog of a breathless little world
trying to reach help where there’s none to find,
mouths petrified in a primal soundless scream
you think only God hear, but the Universe can
hold forever the reverberating echoes of despair
for eons and eons, until the end of all your cries.
grievous emotions are so pandemic to individual lives
utterly crippling some people mentally & psyhcologically
from emotional wealth where they cannot even see any other way

Scary verses here Georg and your sketch by Munch is so appropriate. Are all of his "Screams" back in the gallery where they belong? I know that several were damaged by the idiot who stole them a few years ago.

i think the last part i was reading w/out breathing. wow georg you 'really' took my breath away. had to check the mirror in order to close my mouth!
now THIS is what writing is all about for me...
the ability to knock the props out...take someone on an unexpected ride...you've got it georg... you've got what i aspire to and am working toward...was blindsided by the intensity of your dynamic words that painted such a provacative dark clear picture
and thatsallihavetosayaboutthat....patmedlin...whewww
Great articulation of the depths of despair, George - silent or otherwise. You have painted a very vivid picture and allegory of the tortures that our human minds can endure before at long last we throw back our heads, open our mouths and submit to that long-suppressed scream. And often it is also a long road that follows as all that was bottled-up behind it comes eschewing out.... Dante-esque. As always,a thoughtful and precise. xx

Reminds me of Goya's famous painting of Cronus eating his children.
GOD NOT ONLY 'HEARS'...GOD 'KNOWS' AND HE HOLDS A LIGHT INSIDE AND OUT ... THINGS CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT AND SOMETIMES ONE WILL FEEL LIKE HOWLING...AND THAT REALLY IS ALRIGHT BECAUSE GOD WAITS AND HE IS IN THE 'COMFORTING' AND 'STRENGTHENING' BUSINESS...ALL DAY AND ALL THE TIME. HE IS REALLY A EVER PRESENT HELP...SO, WE HOWL...BUT NOT IN DESPAIR AND NOT FOREVER. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS, LOVE, JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Georg this one strikes a cord
I have seen what happens
when despair strikes
And I believe at one time or another
we are all susceptible
Especially when we are overly stress
Your words captured emotions and sadness
Beautifully!
Georg....I do hope this is just Poetry?
Wishing you Peace Love and Light...Yolie
Let it all out bro', as keeping it inside is a killer for one with such a big heart as yours...(I know this is fictional but I thought what I said was right) ed
Georg, I am with you, I am getting hoarse, but enough of us, we'll make a choir, though you must be the Choirmaster, for as Ed, said, wasn't Munch's name Edvard, how perceptive of him.

This one will strike a bit of fear into the hearts and soul of all who read for we are all vunerable to despair...some just take longer to fall but often fall the hardest...well done Georg

It sadly seems that way, more and more these days. And I think I'll keep on howling with my dogs in the woods at night - they probably know far more than I do.

PS: Wasn't Mr. Munch's first name - Edvard??!!
