far deeper than a soul starves ...

Poem Artwork
Being positioned
Between vitality and
The gray’s of shadows;
This freely expressed life of
Extraordinary colors

Creates full rainbows
With words and desert echoes;
Revealing her path

As an art scholar,
Medieval literature;
One LIVING sculpture
Lamenting loves complexness;
A dragonfly ASCENDING,

Rediscovering
The innocence of dreaming;
Not fully knowing

Her life will evince
The fervent hopefulness’s
Of one seeking TRUTH

DRAGONFLY rises,
In humbleness of spirit,
(Voyaging beyond)
Life’s many unrequited
Gifts given from two scarred hands

Understanding now
Dying as a conversion;
Circling obstacles
Akin to daily regrets;
A cathartic chrysalis

Waiting to be bound
To ONE who emancipates
The LIFE she foresees;
Translucent of an echo;
Far deeper than a soul starves,

Chrystus beckons
As an artificial church decays

Many souls have known the gift of shared words in this beautiful piece of art, yet have chosen to stay in a state of chrysalis, rather than one with the two scarred hands.
My hope is the dome is shattered and the spirit fills those who will be as the dragonfly, then rise through their humbled lives.

One in him my friend, he is smiling about what you have written!

This made me cry. I can't read anymore tonight though I so badly want too. Your poetry pulls something in me to the surface that I have no words for and after this one, I am stunned.
I am saying "I'm grateful" that there is a writer like you on this planet during my lifetime; evidence of God's mercy.

Beautifully crafted, richard. I have read this poem several times and confess that I will read it several times more -- each reading casting greater light onto the depth of your words. ~leslie

I love the image you put up to go along with this poem. It is breathtaking and inspiring.

I love the poem as well. Seems to be a little philosophical to me.
Great choice of words and imagery in this piece.

Thanks for sharing.

All the best,
Lena

Did you know that if God had created the Dragonfly's mouth to be bigger than it is. . . one bite, and we'd be dead!
It's poison is lethal, like the starving soul. . .
Thought-provoking, I must say, and I would expect no less! :)
Love and Peace~

"Gifts given from two scarred hands" - I love this line, Richard. It's subtle, but the imagery says so much. It instantly made me feel humble and thankful. Well written and expressed. Hugs,

This does have a medieval feel.
Multi level and sublime. The last stanza is rich in such mataphor.
Such an intelligent penn.

so many lines and memories that permeate the truth of this. ..
the essence of a hand.holding belief and a child of faith in the central st.age. . .. the reasoning of devotion; the epic s.light sage song of such a voice you possess....that proves steady and sure in turbulent times; and the soft residual focus is so beautiful......surely the reciprocation is complete. and sweetly accepted. much ascetic beauty and awe to you this christ.mass. .. .
find me in a piece of st.ained glass somewhere.
amidst the churchy bells.
and quasimodo towers.
you are beautifulk.
love to you and yours~

Are the ruins of an abandoned chapel in the middle of nowhere hold its name as the House of God?...Yes!...because the spirit of the pure at heart will linger there to give comfort to any sorrowful passing traveler.

Last two lines put the exclamation point to the poem, my friend. You have woven that wondrous day with cryptic revelation. "One LIVING sculpture / Lamenting loves complexness; /A dragonfly ASCENDING,"
