The motley progeny of
Shem, Ham and Japheth
Flesh vessels
Prone to near-sightedness
Destructive imagination
Self-centeredness
Overindulgence
Unforgiveness
Pop culture
Rapacity
Disease
Killing
Lying
Cheating
Bleating sheep
Willing to espouse the
Ravings of madwomen/men
And every evil bird in prevision
Of creative enlightenment or becoming
The next raging trend floating to the surface
Of societal devolution like an ill-shapen turd

Distractions cramming vacuums
And mental crevices temporarily with all
Bizarre gimmicks or talisman worn or pierced in
Celebration of free-will and religious insanity

And when it became known
That it was more a test of volition
Than a righteous act of indebtedness,
For most pseudo-intellectuals
And those given to reinterpretation
Of all things holy and unalterable
Adhering to a revolutionary principal,
About being Christ-like in a fallen world
Notwithstanding circumstance
And all the while

Turning the other cheek
With hands extended
In altruistic fashion
Bearing a kind of
Spiritual attrition
Satisfying the needs of another, while
Renouncing self in the higher calling of
Sacrificing what self desired for the
Well-being of another

All but ONE have failed
