Voices speaking LIGHT...

by Richard Lloyd Cederberg — Read all 280 poems by Richard Lloyd Cederberg

She was only summer to his heart and not the full four seasons of the year. Non-fiction

Poem Artwork
In those days
You were the one
CRYING to be absolved,
BEGGING to be understood,
RUNNING from another storm,
FRAGMENTED by loquacious poets,
Words were but grains of sand
Muffed by an awkward wind,
And you remained mute...
.
Something despicable had
Crept upon your artless heart sissing.
His affair - surly and flexed - was crouching
On the garden you had faithfully tended.
And no music could chasten
The emotional savageness
You were experiencing.
You’d been betrayed,
And in your heart
You felt your dreams
Clambering along razors...
.
In a rage of tears you watched
Fidelity’s tender wings being torn off;
But purpose kept you still and grounded.
And in your heart you endured
Amidst the wreckage;
Willing to cast off,
Willing to understand,
Willing to begin anew, and
Willing to rebuild and replenish...
.
Your lastingness and strength was a gift,
And you were attuned to voices speaking LIGHT...

I CAN RELATE. FOR HIS VOICE THAT SPOKE LIGHT TO THE WORLD, SPOKE TO ME...AND STILL DOES. HIS VOICE IS THE ONLY REASON I GO ON FROM DAY TO DAY. WHEN I WRITE 'HIS INSPIRATIONS' IT IS FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, NOT SOMETHING I HEARD OR READ. AND I REALIZE IT CANNOT BE ANY OTHER WAY. THANKS FOR SHARING, RICHARD. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Such are the rare relationships that have enough maturity to work things out. Very sad our society continues to be dumbed down and kept with adolescent mind sets.

It is very hard to evaluate poetry that is described as nonfiction and directed in the manner this one is, without hurting the author or the person the author wrote the poem for.

So, all I can say is that the poem was written with great compassion and writing skill. Whether it's intention was well received or not by the person it was intended for, I do not know.

Jerry really summed it up quite adequately without elaborating much more, except to say that the title is perfect. I love it. John

“Fidelity’s tender wings being torn off;”

THOSE words is the poem. And from this line we stop and wonder how, when everything is lost to us, how noting will ever be the same? How then can we remain within ourselves to deal with the tragedy of a broken heart? How! Amid the death and destruction of all we have known can we remain there until a brighter day shines down upon us? It is written in the dark caves of our ancestors, Survival! It is bred into us, and we are its product. Continued existence. Endurance. We are us

I like the way you play with words. I had to look up exuviating. The dictionary only had exuviate or exuviation, to cast off. I learn something new each day.
