My Mother passed Sept 1998. There is not a day that goes by that her love and goodness doesn't occupy my thoughts. This year however, I decided to write something for the other Mother in my life – my Wife.

Poem Artwork
Oh my beloved,
For naught stand I
In this reverie,
But that for a moment
Wouldst thou see in me
The miracle I see in you.
For as the glorious sunrise-
In lengthening fingers- embraces
Dew-sodden earth, so
Shall my heart,
Moistened with tears
Of thankfulness and hope,
Embrace this vision of one
As lovely as you.

SO AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL RICHARD. NOT MANY ARE BLESSED TO FIND IN ANOTHER THE ATTRIBUTES THAT MADE THEM ADORE AND APPRECIATE THEIR MOTHERS...AND TO GO ON, FALLING IN LOVE AND SHARING THEIR LIVES IN WEDDED BLISS, IS TRULY SPECIAL. OF COURSE, THERE'S NO REPLACEMENT FOR A DEAR MOTHER, BUT WHAT A 'GIFT OF LOVE' TO HAVE SOMEONE THAT 'WARMS' THOSE INWARD PLACES WHERE MOM USED TO TOUCH! WONDERFUL SHARING, ENJOYED. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

I love the old English feel to this poem, and the tender way
that you let her know how much she is loved and appreciated.
Beautiful pen Richard, have a great day. :)

An appropriate message for mothers, wives and the maternal principals that imbue females with the instinct to care for, care about, and remain a force of nature that even those women of hardness find themselves pulled into the precious vortex of love and tenderness. Such is what men, whether they admit it or not, need and seek. A lovely dedication to a memory of goodness, kindness, and love.

It all depends on your point of view. Were you writing from your children's point of view or from your own? Every woman inherits mothering skills. It is only with bearing a child that she gets to truly use them. If she doesn't bear children, she can still be a mother to those who need it. For the instinct is within her, as you have so beautifully expressed.
