Never stop reaching...

Poem Artwork
I know a man
who bears aging as
a series of benchmarks,
seasons where
understanding deepens,
and LIFE becomes more fascinating,
a time when each soul's search for beauty
reveals itself in endless forms…
.
I know a man also,
who ponders AGING in
fearful respect of death’s
vast and terrible depth,
and is terrified by
its hunger, its inexhaustibility, and
the whole dread persistent hugeness of it…
.
I know another man too, who
worships God in spirit and truth, and
who accepts aging as an act of GOD’S GRACE,
a process that should no more straiten a soul
than the moons snowy luminance as it
pirouettes with swaying trees…
.
(This same man) observes
that no matter what your age,
Heaven’s rains
still refresh,
and moist rich soil
yields its musty fragrance, as
flowers spring forth, and bloom and fade,
in an unappeasable passage of seasons…
.
We being as flowers too….
.
Notwithstanding the many fears, and
gathering years, weighing heavily at times,
Mockingbirds still delight
in the higher branches
with their colorful
fire of conjurations, even
as winter’s snow deepens,
and each heart strains through
memories portion of impermanence…
.
The intensely
aching beauty you see
being just within your grasp, has a
heat that burns when you reach for it…
whether it’s
yours or not, is NOT
in your power to understand…
.
But never stop reaching…

Yes …to never stop reaching and learning…
To face life and all it’s challenges…
To never stop reaching for those Stars…however
Seemingly unattainable.
No matter what our age, the beauty of Nature
is incomparable, and can deepen so much as we
age…one of the benefits of advancing years…

A truly wonderful piece of writing Richard…

AND YOU ARE SO RIGHT, RICHARD. NO MATTER WHAT LIFE THROWS AT US WE(PHYSICALLY, PSCHOLOGICALY, SPIRITUALY, ETC)BY FAITH, MUST NEVER EVER STOP REACHING HIGHER! CERTAINLY, NO WHERE ON THIS EARTH WILL WE FIND A PERFECT PLACE, STILL, BY THE MERCY AND GRACE OF GOD...HERE AND THERE...WE ARE BLESSED WITH BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCES THAT ELEVATE OUR THOUGHTS AND SPIRITS, STRENGTHENING US TO GO ON. ALBEIT, ABOVE ALL AND WITH ALL PERSEVERANCE WE ENDEAVOR TO REMEMBER 'HERE' IS JUST FOR A TIME, IT IS NOT PERMANENT. THUS, WE MUST PRESS-ON, WE MUST REACH, FOR...THE VERY BEST IS YET TO COME, INDEED FOR AN ETERNITY!!!!! A PROFOUNDLY ENCOURAGING, INSPIRATIONAL WORK...THOROUGHLY ENJOYED, MY FRIEND.

We all have one life to live and it is a privilege to get old. Some others may not have the privilege to see themselves get old, especially in those war-torn countries.

Whatever age we have arrived at to leave this world, we are all going to be youngsters when we reached heaven. Whenever I dreamed about my dad, he was always in his younger self. I have never dreamed about him in his old form.

Yes, growing old and reaching is a privilege. People should be happy and not dread it.

Richard, this is the kind of poetry that influences lives. It reads almost like a Pauline epistle, "I knew a man once who was caught up into heaven." I love this poem, everything about it is soul touching. Thank you for sharing these deep thoughts.

A wonderful message in your poem that we should all keep striving and learning, growing with each year we put on our bodies. All the years that we can handle.

I'm satisfied with my life so far. It would be nice for it to end right now and free my partner from the drudgery of taking care of me 24/365, for I fear there will be much pain and misery she and I will have while this healthy body that will not give up to the Grim Reaper.

On the other hand, I relish the news every day and wonder why so many have given up on the news. Sure, there are always troubles in this restless earth. I look forward to them, too. But it's finding out what is just around the corner if I only live long enough to find out something new and amazing that I didn't already know. Like my grandmother going from oxen drawn wagon to flying cross-country in a jet. Who knows what wonders lie ahead. Maybe I should be around to view them.

A thoughtful treatise of sorts asking that we all allow ourselves to reach out to that which holds such enigmatic power and energy for all of us to partake of. Good work.

Such a heart-felt entreaty to be open and available to the mysteries of the unknown that we are confronted with every day of our lives. So well expressed with passion and longing.

So hearfelt... Profound Divine fruit Richard. The Lord is bringing His anointing to His children to be influenced by His Angel's. Its It's extremely exciting these times because His Heavenly veil is very thin towards earth. We are so close now to His Angel's and their influences. We know how all this ends because we are more than conquers through Christ. Yes we all live for love and encouragement, especially to those who have so much sadness and are lost, we must be the barriers of lit candles
