Well, it is the beginning of another year. I have always found that New Years resolutions are easy to make and hard to keep. I wonder why we feel compelled on the first of every year to make promises about our activities in the coming years. The future has not yet come to be. Therefore, how can I with clear conscience promise something that I may or may not do?

Every year it is a tradition, one that I believe is made in dilution.
We make a promise to one in all. It is called a New Years Resolution.

This seems to be a waste of time indeed.
For as the new years days ahead proceed

We almost always find ourselves breaking
The New Year’s resolution we are undertaking.

So my New Years resolution this year will be
That there are no more resolutions made by me.

Why promise myself I will cut down on eats
Or possibly I will eat much less meats.

These promises are made once a year on this day
And followed by days where our passions sway.

The only problem with this resolution I have made
Is the fact that the resolution has already been disobeyed.

If indeed I promised myself by resolution
I have already failed to find the solution.

I said no more resolutions but in fact I have already made one.
So I will postpone my resolution until another year has begun.
