Best and the safest way to invest is through GIC. It's a little less payout, but the reward is guaranteed. Your amount will only go up, never goes down. I never believe in buying stocks. It's too nerve wrecking.
One of my co-workers has cashed in all her RRSP's and took a year of leave without pay to play in the stock markets, I wonder how she's doing now.
