It is dark on the April day

No sun is shining and clouds are gray.

Out of the sky come drops of rain which pour

To join those which have fallen before.

The drops have created puddles here and there

Newly fallen drops fall and splash everywhere.

They seem to be playing as children who love to hop.

Splashing and singing not wanting to stop.

They are oblivious to the gray skies above

It is the kind of weather that they truly love.

If you listen you hear the splashing sound the rain.

It reverberates and sings nature’s wondrous refrain.

The raindrops fall and dance and sing.

It’s April Showers, the coming of spring.
