They believed in Man as they began to build a nation They also believed in God, the maker of all creation They believed that the nation founded was a reason for jubilation That one nation under God was worth mans’ exultation Because they believed they thanked God each day as they watched the nation grow The freedom of religion was part of liberty, the choice we all gratefully know As we sing, “Oh say can you see,” we sing of free will and sovereignty We build on faith in a country based on individual liberty The freedom of expression is a part of a nation inclluding each mans representation Old Glory waves from the flagpole proclaiming equal rights to all men, a part of its representation www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VUo8OuFaiI&feature=player_embedded
