Good work, Ron. Well penned. I saw the results of a survey that indicated 70 per cent of those voting for President Bush thought that Saddam Hussein and Al Qeda were partners in the 9/11 attack and/or that our troops found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. If that much of the electorate is so misinformed, truly the founding fathers are spinning in their graves. They probably are anyway, with President G.B. now leading the ignominious charge to undermine the wall of separation between church and state that Jefferson, Madison, et. al., labored so nobly to establish.

Dissent should never be an issue as long as it is peaceful. I think the idea that a disagreement between the majority and the stated enlightened minority equals fear on the majority’s part and the idea that the wealthy are greedy are both a bit oversimplified. I did enjoy your work. As I have stated before, I respect your intellect.
Ronald you know it takes friction to make an engine run! No one man is all good or all bad! These fears that keep being spread are a product of people who aren't any better than the one they are objecting to. We all need to step back from leaders who foment things just to get elected and that's on all sides. Excellent poem nonetheless;-)
This is a well-written heartfelt piece, Ronald, however, we do not live in a Democracy, we live in a Republic. Secondly, I am curious what our Founding Fathers would have thought of a Socialist as President. Our country isn't perfect and neither are any of us, but we are presented with our current situation and it is up to us to ensure that we maintain liberty for all Americans. Our Country is a Democratic Republic and our Constitution is set up to work, as such. Our Constitution is not set up to function in a Socialist Republic. I, for one, would never put my rights, guaranteed by our Constitution, in jeopardy by voting for a Socialist for any position, much less to be our President. Just my opinion on the current situation…I certainly would defend, to my death, your right to disagree.
