Pardon my French and the similarity of this poem to others lately, but it seems that while the world is getting easier to operate from the captain's seat in your underwear, there still are glitches that can cause one to wish to pull one's hair out in frustration. BTW, in spite of this and her aggressive clippers, I still have my hair… or so she complains. ;-)

 Complifukation

Just got off the phone again,
been on that phone since,
don't know when.

Got on the website right away,
early bird gets the worm,
or so they say.

And then the damn website hung up,
had to re-log into that stupid pup,
a dog's a dog and that's no lie.

Maybe another company,
another website, would do…
So I tried them all…
I emailed them, texted them,
even chatted with a few.

I watched their YouTube pitches,
saw their pop-up window bitches,
and their frequent server glitches.

Their downtime, off-line, excuses.
Their profuse apologies for abuses.
Their use of me for useless uses.

I finally got through paying for a view,
and to my surprise, it was a pack of lies.
I didn't quite know what to do.

So I picked up the phone to make that call,
after four bad numbers with waits for all,
finally got through to ubiquitous Paul.

Apologizing profusely, Paul corrected the matter,
pathetically pattering platitude chatter.

So I am on to challenge the next glitch,
a dollar for each one, and I'd be rich.

I've been a member of one organization since 1992 and have never been able to log onto their website, with or without their help. I can't quit--I owe them money. We have a hate/hate relationship, sort of like the title to your tale.

With computers we have the world at our fingertips; however, when things aren't going right...well...let's just say I'm surprised I have any hair left. You have expressed our frustrations quite well.

Don't have my own website. Used to. Not any more. However, have spent the last three days (maybe more) trying to understand and deal with Facebook. These people in your website and here in my Facebook just do not speak the same language as we do, or at least I do.

Interesting to realize that even with all the glitches, we find so much reward from having the world at our desktop, rather than still having to greet so much modern day nonsense at our doorstep, or workplace, or obligatory social events. At least with the web, we've some control over who or what we want to engage in,i.e., a choice of text, text and picture, text picture and sound, et al. Can't wait for the 1st generation of holographic computer projections. Gotta a feeling we'll go through a lot of glitches perfecting that transmission.

Spectacular! This has become an almost everyday irritation in life, making me afraid to make any changes because I have to deal with this idiocy. This is really funny and true at the same time.
