When humanity adds up all that it has learned, what has it come to?

 Sum of All Seasons

The sum of all seasons is high,
the day of reckoning is nigh,
there are those that would deny,
know not the when, nor the why.

The run of all reasons is wry,
piled as high as the perennial sky,
but reasons alone won't comply,
when serendipity seasons fly by.

We've come to the summit of sum,
and have got all hurt on the run,
but we don't know how to have fun,
and keep feeding the fat of the gun.

For each and every one in the sun,
has a season to bask in the won,
a time for all acrimony to be done,
and for all to enjoy the hard-won.

All seasons will come to an end,
all things will be renewed again,
as the egg leaves the nest of the hen,
traveling to who knows when.

A very ouroborian (??) write, Ron. Chaos, potential, fulfilment. We have certainly swallowed our own tail, been hoisted on our own petard, whatever. Bitten off more than we can chew at any rate. Very controlled writing and quite a challenge to keep with the meticulous rhyme scheme. xx

From season to season and month to month,
year to year we all have reason to be
thankful and cheer, blessings are bountiful
life is good, strive for peace then our lives
will be complete.....Excellent poem Ron!

...the changing seasons in human life of wonder-beauty-sorrow-pain-and-suffering...with a message...taking a time to smell the roses and appreciate each day...may actually make humans life...enjoyable...

"Life is the sum of all the seasons with which it is filled.
And if we have time to enjoy the things most important to us,
life is rich and full indeed..." (sic)

NB: A very beautiful photo, that sums the colours of all seasons.
Thank you Ron, for sharing your words of wisdom.

Hi Ron, glad to see that you are still striding forward metaphorically.

Sometimes life’s seasons die too soon,
to leave their sad memories with us.
What hopes we by our perceived boon,
those richer fruits shall be the joys of Bacchus.

Unseasonably good.

Hope springs eternal,
As each season ends.
This poem of philosophy,
truly transcends.

Don't question everything, but live everyday to the fullest. Seasons come seasons go, and everything get renewed, and rewarded. You MUST KNOW what you yourself WANT IN LIFE, and PURSUE IT; and NOT HAVE ANYONE TO STEER YOU INTO THE WRONG DIRECTION. The joy and fun of yester years are not the same in comparison to the joys you should feel today, because you feel different today about everything. You level of joy would change along with the years you've grown...unless you wish to stay stationary in the yester years of joy then you may still have something to work out yet. As we grow the things we feel joyous are different from the joy we feel in yester years. A person must feel the joy according to their seasons in life. You reap what you sow. My joy and fun today are my children, and my family. My joy in yester years were my job and my career (which I did well...BTW...and with good pension too) and the true friends that I have made who are still with me as of today. These are my joy of today's according to my season.

If you feel you still have not got what you sow in life, then you'll need to go do some more sowing. Just talking about it wont do you any good. You've got to sow, and then you reap your reward. You must work for the things you want in life and be satisfied. If not, then you still need to work some more.

Anyway...great poem!

"We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun but the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time". The first thing that came to mind when I read this cleverly crafted rendering Ron. Thank you for the philosophy as well as the entertaining delivery. May peace and love be always with you. Jon Michael

This is very good poetry, Ron. And you are completely right, "the day of reckoning is nigh," Live for the day is the common saying and it is true as far as it goes, but moist of us have too much excess baggage that we tote around to do that phrase justice.

Yes, all things will end only to give birth to something new but "who knows when". I hope I live to "enjoy the hard-won"!!!

Love ya!

Sometimes your poetry appears to be light hearted because of the form and flow but it carries a deep message. Well penned Ron and I really enjoyed reading it.
