Vaccinations have given us all a sense of relief, but as long as there remain unvaccinated people out there, it isn't advisable to gather in large crowds until everyone is protected from the very infectious varieties of coronavirus still growing in some places.

Christmas Lessons from the 1918 Pandemic

Christmas Peril

Christmas holidays should be festive,

friends and family bringing good cheer,

but this Christmas may be different,

given events of the past year.

COVID-19 and its variants, plenty,

have the ICUs, once again, full.

There seems no end to the havoc,

Delta and Omicron continue to kill.

Various entities are calling for mandates,

to prevent the spread already here.

But many oppose being vaccinated,

claiming more information needed to hear.

So, if we gather in great numbers,

at events or in our family homes,

chances are we will spread the virus,

as the way a virulent virus roams.

Everyone will get sick who isn't vaccinated,

and some will be hospitalized as well.

And some, may end up dying from,

pride declaring their freedom's swell.

The science is not lacking,

it's just slow in coming in.

So don't blame the scientists,

when the information is so thin.

In due time, the pandemic will be over,

we can resume our routines once more.

And the last two Christmas's aggravations,

will be forgotten in Christmas lore.

OF COURSE, AS YOU WISELY WARN, WE MUST ALL BE CAREFUL. BUT THANK GOD FOR HIS MARVELOUS SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS IN WHICH..DESPITE THE PRESENCE OF CORONA AND ITS VARIENTS...THE JOY OF THE SEASON VERY MUCH ABOUNDS. THUS, MANY ARE GOING FORTH, REGARDLESS...STILL SPREADING CHEER AND BEING GRATEFUL TO GOD FOR THE BIRTH OF HIS SON AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF A NEW YEAR. I GUESS IT'S HARD FOR MANY TO GO BACK INTO THAT 'SHELL' AFTER BEING SET FREE AND 'SOARING' A BIT. EVERYTHING HAS A SEASON, SO HERE I AM SO GRATEFUL THAT I AM AN INTROVERT AND NEVER REALLY HAD TO 'GO IN' OR 'COME OUT' OF MY SHELL...FOR IT'S HOME TO ME. THANKS FOR SHARING. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

I like the positivity! Technology keeps improving also, so great things expected in the future.

Crafty how you worked these lines into poetic essence, Ron. With your message adeptly given, it is even softened by the type and color of font. Brave are those who write of controversial things, accepting both admiration and condemnation. Good for you ~~ djl

I pray that you are right dear Ron, one day we will look back to these
testing years, and realize it only made us more grateful for what we
have. Freedom to live a healthy life without threat of disease and virus. It may take some time as you say, but it will happen. Thankyou for your meaningful poem today, stay well, and remember dreams are our way of airing our subconscious thoughts, but our wakeful state is for living bravely, thankyou for being on site, you make a difference when you are awake, and writing :)

In another few years, a lot of people will die or be hospitalized due to the large percentage of the population who have got vaccinated and received booster shots. This has been planned to reset the world's population. The last reset was in 1918, they do this every hundred years. This reset began in 2018. 95% of the world's population needs to be eliminated. Be prepared and forewarned. The more vaccines you get and the more booster shots you get will just work to eliminate your own body's natural immune ability to fight other diseases. If you happened to catch other illnesses and not COVID, your body will have zero chance of surviving because your own natural immunity system is at zero to fight back. - This is the REAL science, and not something the science cult of nowadays will reveal to you.

This is so timely and true...we should all write on this and encourage people to get vaccinated OR not cause or enter large crowds. You are one of my favorite poets and I think you can influence others.

Very fine poetry here!!

A vital message cast into measured, poetic form. I find it hard to understand why such a high percentage of people are reluctant to get the vaccination that would not only protect the individual but also the rampant spread and mutation of this deadly virus. Some people just don't get it.

A very real, apt, and timely write, Ron. I have had the two vaccines thus far and I am waiting for a notification to go for the booster. Love and peace and good health to you, Ron,

Regis. 😎🍁
