Red Tape
Whether it be US, state or local,
government bodies pass laws.
Some of them grant money to citizens,
for one kind or another cause.
Some are quite easy like when we get 65,
Medicare is almost guaranteed,
That is, if we are still alive.
Options for old survivors insurance, SSI,
are quite varied and catch the readers' eye.
But getting them implemented can be a bitch,
when you’n the gov’nment don't see eye to I.
But when you finally got it locked in,
bein’ on the gov’nment dole ain't no sin.
pleasure when each month comes ‘round,
and that Eagle shit comes trickling down.
Now, other programs ain't that easy,
you fill out the forms, easy, breezy,
but some eagle eye spots a white lie,
you in a heap of stranglin’ red necktie.
An’ if'on that f-on IRS get aholt yer case,
you could be doin’ time in the big house,
even if all you was doin’ was stretchin’ the truth,
red tape's a bitch and I'm a louse.
Guess that's why she threw me outta on the house.

Everything I am being paid is everything I rightfully earned, so that's it. All the benefits the government has been throwing around at the citizens during the pandemic I couldn't get any of them - reason: the government thinks I was already making too much money, which was a lie.
Now, our PM is shamelessly asking some of those who had received the CERB benefits to refund the government, claiming some of them didn't deserve to get it. What a shame!!!!
Yet, our PM Trudeau sends the tax-payer hard-earned dollars to other countries to support the wars in other countries, leaving the Canadian citizens holes in their pockets. Many are being evicted from their homes for non-payment of rent and mortgages. This is what's happening here in Canada.
I'm just glad that I was turned down when I tried to collect the CERB benefits. Sometimes, being unlucky isn't so bad. It turns out for the better.
Yup!!! If we need to have some sort of benefits, we need to go through many red tape! It is like that too in Canada. The government has no shame!!!
