Throughout pre-history (unwritten) and history those in charge of creating information, whether it be true or not, have controlled the unread and the 90% who just follow. Trusted sources are those who are on the scene information that can be scientifically verified, and most of all, immediately corrected when found in mistake. Those that defend mistaken information, are trying to dupe you. Repetition of the same information over and over tends to hardwire the brain to misinformation.

Scribe Writing or Copying Papers and Books for the Pope Courtesy Commons.Wikimedia.org Conjuring It was written in stone, on clay tablets, papyrus, parchment, linen, paper, plastic and in bits and bauds, paintings, glyphs, of successful kills on cave walls, accounts kept of possessions traded in simple stalls. Bragging of emperors, kings and warlords of battles won. Pronouncements of prophets, soothsayers, philosophers, gurus, clairvoyants, preachers and influencers under the sun. Putting words to what passed down verbally generations had done. History written by those and for those only in control, those written by opponents destroyed in the flaming toll, that has taken more lives down through the ages, than famines, pestilences, disasters in their deadly role. Countless have read and reread the old documents, coming to new conclusions to meet their current needs. Conjurers continually stirring the pot to turn it their way, while so many on the receiving end of injustice, bleeds. Copyright 2024 © Ronald W. In reading the old documents, it is inevitable that we in a latter era come to different conclusions since they enjoy the benefit of accumulated knowledge, particularly with the developments of modern science, the myriad discoveries and inventions, etc . In reading the old documents, we should glean the wisdom found therein and leave the chaff behind. Such a thoughtful poem and so relevant.

To me, what is most memorable about this piece is the build of word impact in each phrase. The premise for the write has been expressed often by other poets (my self included) and essayists, but there was a calming effect to the overall message, one that will reach those of both religious zeal and humanist perception. One thing is true for all, we are living in "conjuring" power that remains alive and well, just using modern means of messaging and persuading people to forget their own minds and listen only to the conjurer. Well thought out and presented.

WHAT A FASCINATING WORK, RONALD. AND YOU ARE SO RIGHT. FROM THE BEGINNING OF TIME WE HAVE TRIED TO INTERPRET WRITINGS FROM EVERY WALK OF LIFE...WITHOUT THE INFLUENCE OF GOD'S SPIRIT. IF WE REFER TO ANCIENT AND RECENT WRITINGS(RELIGIOUS, PHILOSOPHICAL, ETC.) WE CAN EASILY COME TO AN CONCLUSION THAT IS HIGHLY INFLUENCED BY ONES PERSONAL OPINION(DEAR LORD, PLEASE DON'T LET IT BE A GROUP)THAT HAS BEEN TAINTED BY INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCES AND BELIEFS. AND I HEARTILY AGREE WITH THE TITLE OF THIS FINE WORK...FOR WE HUMANS DO 'CONJURE' UP ASSUMPTIONS THAT ARE, INDEED...JUST THAT! 'ASSUMPTIONS'...THAT ARE NOT TRUE, BUT DO NEGATIVELY AFFECT A PERSON, PLACE, ETC WITH THE VILEST OUTCOME! IT IS A FACT THAT WE CAN 'HURT' CONVINCED THAT WE ARE RIGHT!!! History is always told from the view of the victor. Or it usually is. Much is being done today to try to change that.
