Christmas, 2008

So this was Christmas, 2008,

The day itself is soon to be over,

But the sentiments and feelings remain,

I saw all four of my beautiful grandchildren,

Gave them gifts and saw their delight.

The snow came down soft and light,

From before daylight to well after dark.

The view of the barn and the house with its lights,

Were soft in the shadows of the snow.

My daughter and I were snuggly for sure,

As we never got out of our jammies,

And the horses were peaceful and as cozy as could be,

In their heavy weight waterproof blankets.

And so thankful I am to the miracle we are a part of,

For my sister, today, was released from the hospital.

Still a long road ahead, she is so brave and strong,

That she fights the good fight to be victorious in the end.

And so, this was Christmas, 2008,

A wonderful, peaceful, miraculous day,

A day of new memories imprinted in time,

A day to be cherished and remembered.

That was a wonderful Xmas as you invite the readers to be there, with thoughts snuggling by the fireplace.

GREAT news about your sister being released from the hospital; what better Christmas present than THAT?? (That happened to me two years ago; still grateful!) And the snow sounds lovely; please send some our way! (I won't complain; I sure do miss it!!) MERRY CHRISTMAS, Karen; hope it was good! Mine was! (See my blog for details!)

From what I've read, Karen, it looks like you had a picture book Christmas. As I was driving to my in-laws this morning I wondered about your sister (I've been following your poetry reports). I'd like to wish you and your entire family strength and courage. Seasons greetings! ~ Sara
