DOES MOTHER MISS ME?

Does Mother miss me, dear Lord,
now that she's with You?
Does she ever think about me,
and feel a little blue?
Can her happiness be complete
when I am still down here?
Tell me, Father, how is she?
How is my Mother dear?

On days when I am lonely,
and wishing she were here,
I wonder if she misses me,
my precious Mother dear,
But in my heart I know the truth --
although she loves me still,
She's happy beyond words now!
Her heart is all a-thrill!

She knows we're meeting someday soon,
she knows it won't be long,
and there's no time for heartache
when you're singing Heaven's song!

All things are seen from Heaven's view,
and not as here below;
and she is filled with love of God!
There's joy for her, I know!
The joy that those of us on earth
but dimly understand --
the pure, sweet joy of knowing God,
of touching Jesus' hand!

How can my mother look behind;
or cry for earthly things?
She's walking with her Precious Lord,
Who is the king of Kings!
She sees His face, and talks with Him --
what rapture that must be --
to be with Him and know His love
for all eternity!

I like the word Joy. and the way you used it here. Joy was my cocker spaniels name too who died Oct 23, 2003 a day before my birthday. I miss Joy still so much but know she is in doggie heaven too. Hoping I'll see her when I pass on too, but I just don't know it it will be so. Do we see our animals in heaven. Bonnie May seems to think so. I have many loved ones passed into heaven too and know they are waiting up there for me when my time comes. Meanwhile I have to hang in there and make each day as best as I can, which I try to do.

O, my, Connie, what a beautiful poem. Just the reading of it made me shiver.

Technically, it was wonderfully put together: meter, rhyme, syntax. All the little things that matter in a great poem. But a poem has no depth without a powerful, soulful, loving message. And in this you have succeed beyond measure. Only one who knows God can render such a work.

Outstanding! From the heart and for the heart. How dear can one write be? This I'll copy and keep. I cannot do without.

God's love be with you Connie,
Richard

There are many who would envy such a relationship with your mother. Mine chose to leave this world on her own terms. I do not blame her for she suffered and she raised seven children. This is a loving write, Connie; truly a tribute to your mom. Love and peace to you,

Regis
