Little Black Sambo vs. Mark Twain

Poem Artwork

What is this report in the news
about  the book, Mark twain, in school?

I heard it is a good book
to use to educate the kids.

Although the N word
is over 200 times displayed.

I remember a book
when I was in school.

This little black boy  ran so fast
he turned into butter.

I found in a collectables gallery (1978)
this recording, down an Indiana alley.

A fight to legislate it's removal from schools;
Easy win, it was not long before it was approved.

As I contemplate on Mark Twain,
I wonder why now the N word is fame.

I would rather be true , old and cold
than some people who will sell their soul.

Crazy world, Louisa. My ancestors came from France but I am not a French American. Just plain American suits me just fine.

Why pussyfooting saying , "the N word" instead of nigger but saying honky and not H? Because both are are uttered offensively and it shouldn't be a difference about.
Today society is as hypocritical as they come. We don't want to offend the Muslim community, but we offend the Christian community of a Christian Nation by taking prayers and teaching from schools.
And why the distinction of African American, are them not American? less American? more American?
Why Chicanos? or wop, or kike, or greaser, or latino, or...why we have derogatory names in a Christian Nation? Is an Apache less American than an Alaskan Inuit?
I have read Mark Twain works and never thought of them containing any Christian extremism or racism.
Are we giving a voice to black and whites and brown and red extremist?
I just ask, because to me, you are American or you are not, there's nothing about the color or credo, you are my landsman!
