In the old AME Church
we would sway and sing
in 1943 praising God for freedom:

After reading political news, blogs;
reviews about how some folks still feel
about our 44th Mayor, I was reminded
of the old wooden church beside the road.

I hope we don't need to turn our lights out 
at night fall.  One man has already been dragged
by a truck.  That spells anger and hatered.
We've come too far to stop now.
Let us Pray, the Lord will make a way.
Oh, yes He will.
