It's always best to be clear and honorable in your motive.
A quick stop at the grocery for soda and smokes found me behind an old lady who was trying to come up with four cents so she wouldn’t have to break another retirement dollar.
I put on my best smile and said “Please, allow me.”
She told me how sweet I was and gave me a pat on the cheek. “Thank you young man.” (I’m sixty years old)
I just wanted to get out of there to feed my nicotine habit. After a few puffs I realized what a big shit I was and wished I hadn't parted with that four cents for why I did. I should have gotten a boot in my butt rather than a pat on the cheek.(young man) and I would have been more than four cents richer for it.

hmmm...correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like a wee bit of "change" was all that was needed on both of your parts...maybe the little old lady saw deeper than you give her credit for.
You are just toooo much....always and answer on the rebound...lol!!
I never let money stay on the ground....no matter if it's a one cent I pick it up hoping it will be the start of a fortune...but hey I am ALMOST sixty but still bloody poor!!
Love Tinka :)

Delightful write..much wisdom here..more than meets the eye at first read..
Wow, this is so much more than just an amusing anecdote. There was some soul-searching going on, too. Refreshing the way you've mingled the two, and it's done within the twist at the end which you're so known for. Very clever, Rusty-friend, and I loved it!

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
