Why I Love The English Tongue

The English language was destined for poetries and monotries because of its amazing glossary.

 I love the English tongue

I think it was destined for rhymes

So many synonyms can’t go wrong

Turning inspirations into lovely shrines

 

It’s a great language for poetries

It’s not convoluted or repetitive

It may have been created for monotries

For it forces the reader to be inquisitive

 

All languages are beautiful

But English is communicative

And its glossary plentiful

Making its popularity collective

 

Almost everywhere you go

You can hear the language

Its recognition will never stop to grow

Poets and Monotists‘ great advantage

This poem is penned with pride in our Mother Tongue,
a song of sense on a language whose merits must be sung.
I enjoyed your wit and warmth and words and the depth of your expression. You tease taste out of thought; if your poem was a word-virus, it would be easily caught! May peace and love remain in your heart now and forever.

Well, I never gave it that much thought; I just know "I love words and hate numbers." Since the only language I know is English, the obvious conclusion is I love the English language, too! An interesting little poem, and you made great use of the language.

A great tribute to the language we love and work in; to paraphrase Harris: 'try translating...the honeyed thigh of the bee...into another language and see how it works, or doesn't.'
