Love comes to me on a breeze
from birds singing in the trees
squirrels chittering their tune
and the crickets hypnotic croon
from days with dad in the park
when he was alive with his spark
a happy man considerate and true
loved God, and us, made sure we knew
a positive thinker always wore a smile
balanced and hard working all the while
lived like most, both saint and sinner
proved with wisdom we'd be winners
now I rely on his spirit for company
knowing he will always be with me
he died in a church pew, praying after
confession, like leaves that gently fall
embracing  death as it came to call
knowing his spirit lives on through all
