I think of those in an abusive relationship as I was so MANY years ago. It is never too late to dump the scum and find the happiness that you so deserve. I did and I know it was meant to be. There are as many men as wowen who are being abused. People don't stop to realize the different kinds of abuse. To me verble abuse has to be the worst for bruises will go away and broken bones will heal but the mind and heart holds on to things FOREVER.
Saying good-bye isn't an easy thing to do because often we feel this is what we deserve. It's not, we deserve better.

Saying Good-Bye Isn’t
               An Easy Thing To Do

Just laying there quietly watching you as you sleep
When the thoughts ran through my head,
What if I packed and left today,
For things that you’ve done and said.

Then I felt a little trickle down my cheek,
I turned to hide another tear from you,
On one hand I need to leave, but on the other,
Saying Good-Bye Isn’t a an Easy  Thing to Do.

I gently slid myself out of bed,
Hoping that you wouldn’t wake,
How could I let you know my thoughts,
You already knew our love was fake.

 You didn’t seem to understand,
My tears were thoughts of a happy tomorrow,
Long gone will be these unforgiving days,
I’ve lived my abusive life in sorrow.

It’s time for you to get your wish,
Find a well deserving wife,
Maybe one that will abuse you to,
Then you think back on my life.

There was a time you loved me,
Or was it fake from the very start,
For far too many years of your abuse,
I’ve lived with a shattered heart.

I gave my love to just one man,
Today he’s just a miserable mouse,
To treat a woman as you do,
You are nothing but a louse.

I have the strength to pack my things,
I’ll say farewell to you,
Saying good – bye isn’t easy,
But I’m glad that we are through.

Great write sis and oh so true, a lot of us know about an abusive relationship and yes I am also one of them but thank God I got out of it and found a real man. One that doesn't get his kicks out of beating up on his woman.

Love you sis,
Selena

Amen! There ain't no soul worth enough for you to sit and endure such horrible situations. If I start to talk of domestic abuse, I can go on forever, so I will just stop here. What an awesome write Rose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Domestic violence is much greaaater the street violence, we just aren't informed of it, because it is a case of "privacy", shame, "my fault" "he or she didn't real meant it" "he or she are so sorry" "promised wouldn't do again"....

So many linger in a relationship that should end before someone is hurt or killed. I happy you broke free and made a happy life for yourself.

I think as Vick already said that most who are caught up in an abusive relationship or even just one that has no love...they feed empowerment by staying anyway. Excuses are easy to find, children, where will I go, who will ever love me, I'm too old to start over etc etc etc Well done Rose.

It Is Very Empowering To Find Confidence In An Abusive Relationship & Leave It. Staying In The Relationship Just Enables The Abuser. Your Write Is Vivid & Many People Can Relate, I Been There. Broken Bones, Concucions, strangulation...those wounds mended of course as you say in your write, the verbal are the worst kind & last forever & I Relate To That To Unfortunately.
Many Passions & Sorrow Fill This Write...But Alas, There Is Also Hope Through Leaving-a small ray of light :)
Great Write Rose

Know such abuse is hard to take and hard to live with it and even harder to live without it. Saying good-bye isn't easy, mabye you will be a stronger person for this. Verbal abuse need not be. It is disgustingly downgrading when you know it isn't really the truth. Just what he thinks it is how it should be. Has no self esteem it seems.

sometimes it seems that the comfort of what is known, though miserable, is easier to handle than the fear of the unknown--your write, though, does give hope

Rose, this is tragic, yet hopeful! Too many wonderful people in this same situation...maybe our prayers will give them the strength to leave and find a happier more rewarding path....one to finding their self worth...regaining their self esteem. Good write. lindalaw
