All morning long head against the grindstone
Missed my lunch so hungry could eat a t-bone
Long hot afternoon trying to keep at bay
Want to go home I've had enough for today
I am not allowed to leave for another 10 mins or so
But the hands on the clock are moving ever so slow
I plan my escape the timing must be perfect
And about punctuality the boss is very strict
Run to the clock first in line to punch out
I know exactly where and which takeout
On my way home I think about all the people I please
Then it hits me I have to go back I forgot my keys
Ah man, been there and done that...a great write with a twist of humor and one that we all can relate too. Even though I love my job, and students, there are days...I just want to go home, take a hot shower, and relax with my laptop, a book, or my husband, and sometimes just be by myself and watch t.v. Enjoyed this my friend!
