Like an Outlaw

Jack the knife
And Jill his wife
Ran every night from the law

They lived in barns
Often at farms
And made their bed from straw

A Policeman came in
Jack did sin
But was very slow on the draw

Jill was quick
To divert the Dick
A trick she learnt from grandma

Keeping out of sight
Never using a light
And always sleeping in the raw

Jill and Jack
Are back on track
Now everybody wonders in awe

I want to be Jack
You want to be Jill?
Living on the road like an outlaw
