Who could have abandoned you
Along the road
Where only death
By numerous gruesome means
Awaited?
You are far too young,
And tiny,
To be alone,
Away from your littermates
And the safety of your mother.
Such a beautiful creature,
Sporting Siamese points
Accented with white,
And possessing a loving,
Gentle purr-sonality.
I'd take you, if I could,
But all I can offer
Is a temporary respite
Until your forever home
Is found.
