Sometimes I navigate through deep water between the coral banked abyss where great and small ships lie scattered and bones of lost mariners rest while schools of fish swim through rib cages like ivory playgrounds
I count gold doubloons and silver pieces My graceful neck is bejeweled by chains of gold with diamonds pendants
My long hair, adorned with dancing seaweed, flows out behind me as I glide through the aqua black caverns of the sea
There is no blackness my mer-eyes cannot penetrate nor dangers of the deep my honed intuition cannot fathom
Daring Daughter of Poseidon Princess of the Water World where dolphins are my playmates
Unknown, unseen to mortal eyes except for those rare times I rise above the turbulent waves
Blow kisses to astonished sailors then with a mighty crash of my tail disappear into the deep I am the substance of legend beauty of fantasy….elusive mermaid, I am what dreams are made of
