oh holy day, he did not stay
within rock walls of a gloomy tomb
bless his name The Lamb who came
to carry our grief and end our doom
Our Lord was broken, his blood the token
that heals and atones for all sin
he understands the brokenness of man
none other sacrifice ever needed again
in Jesus Christ who paid the great price
we finally find our place of peace
our souls hidden in him again and yet again
all our fears and sorrows cease
Sweet Sharon's Rose, he fully knows
the path of sorrows we have trod
Our Great High Priest from west to east
has brought us nigh to God
so give him praise, this day of days
death has no sting and no victory
he arose from death's land, its keys in his hand
and opened heaven for you and for me
Easter, the holiest of holy days. God's gift of love for all of his children given through his only begotten son, Jesus Christ's sacrifice of His life to absolve us all from sin. For if we so believeth in Him shall we have ever lasting life, the greatest gift. Thank you Belle for this most timely reminder. Jon Michael
Resurrection and return: this is the meaning that we find behind the closed door of death. When the door opens, there is, as you say, "no sting and no victory". Happy Easter and thank you for sharing this timely wisdom. John
