Keep me in your prayers.

Poem Artwork

Squashed under the elephantine foot of sadness,
which presses down, down, without mercy,
my soul bleeds until I become quite transparent ...
it's as if I am invisible.

You will not have me to kick around anymore;
I am sorry that I bothered you.
When the motives of a Peacemaker are questioned,
it makes the job very difficult.

I will not ask for any more favors from you
if you will do one last thing for me:
Remember that I tried to be a friend to all
and destroyed myself in the process.

(c) 2005, Karla Dorman.

Karla, that first stanza is evidence that you are a poet of significant talent. You have captured in these lines the vast sadness that envelopes some of us and causes us to retreat. If indeed your trying to be a friend has "destroyed" you, then my personal hope is that you'll know with some of us you don't have to try at all. Rest in that and be full of the peace that passes understanding. Love and healing, Dawn

there's an old saying: if you loan someone $50 bucks and they never come back, it was probably worth it. consider yourself freed up of extra baggage, and take a load off.

I'm not sure what is going on in the den. You seem like a wonderful angel. Who would think of hurting you? Hope whoever is hurting you will see the real Karla and stop this.

Stay well!

There are no words for me to place here, Karla other than to say that only you have the power to reach your desired destiny. The life preserver has been tossed to you, but it is worthless if you don't reach out and grab onto it. I will pray for you to find the needed strength.
Take care,
Sherry

Hey, Kid... We love you. We know you're kind and good. We also know that you wouldn't hurt a soul. So go your way without a thought to what is being done to you. Just give us the name and address - and we'll kick the schiit out him or her! - Bill

By the way, that's damn fine poetry you use as the vehicle.

Karla,

Sweet, sweet woman...fear not that which carries venom. Those that bite have only that once and failing attempt to injure. The poetry and love that you effortlessly spread through your words brands to the core. One can not read you and be the same. Stay, as you are, this poet needs his Lady of the Lights...

Peace and (((Hugs)))

Hang in there, Karla. As I've said so many times before, it is usually better to express our feelings in the form of the written word but occasionally, some people do not think about their actions or what harm those actions may cause to others. You still have PLENTY of friends here. If there's one thing I've learned in my brief 24 years of life, it is that you cannot please everyone. All you can do is be certain to please yourself and be happy with that.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, always.
Hugs & Love,
Jill

I feel the deep wound of this write, Karla, hearing its echoes in my soul.

Sometimes, destroying self means rising anew, from phoenix-ashes of tears, fostering wisdom through reluctant understanding of others, and, thus, of self, though all that is seen from the words is the hurt. I hear this in this Poet's voice through the piece 'Peacemaker's Last Wish'.

What is said about a literary work should be considered as such,
once it is an opinion of a reader.

"Peacemaker's Last Wish" bears a sad voice, but most of all it is
a poem of profound contents, which make this an excellent reading.

Keep sharing Your wrting, Poet. Your work is appreciated and
approved by the majority.

Well written, deep passionate write that comes from the heart, I know how you feel for one bad review can spoil the joy of all the good ones we get. However you should not think of giving up writing for you would only be depriving those of us who enjoy your work. Hugs.

Jerry,

Snap out of it? Snap OUT of it?? I wish I could. I take people's comments very seriously; when someone says something that hurts, it wounds deeply. I can't help it--I've always been like that. Maybe I shouldn't be writing at all, because apparently, I can't take criticism.

There is only one true friend that you should care that much about Karla, and you know who He is! You are in control of your destiny, not your friends, I'll keep you in prayer, and hope you will see that though others may disappoint us and take us down, it is only temporary and we have the say over how long we will stay down.

Love,
