This woke me up at 1:00 in the morning. And so, I write. *Yawn!*

Poem Artwork

The easier writing is,
the harder it becomes:
was it that long ago when
words fell like dominoes
in measured patterns of verse?
Now, they clog up the pen
and staunch creativity
unless I threaten them
within an inch of their lives ...
a writer's dilemma.

And the harder writing is,
the easier it gets:
the words flow like quicksilver,
a flood I can't contain
(not that I'd want to stop them);
some of them are happy,
others are angry or sad;
the question I must ask:
are they worthy to be read?
A writer's dilemma.

(c) 2005, Karla Dorman.

Karla, I've found the same to be true. The more I write, the more my own demands of that writing climb upward and upward... surely the process we are meant to take.

We've all been there. Time after time. Are they worthy to be read? Always!

Karla you have a fine mind for a poet,you're a natural, just go with the flow, don't ever force it or you'll lose it.

They are worthy to be written, that is what matters. No matter the words, there is someone who is searching to find them.
Take care,

The question you ask, "Are they worthy to be read?" is a question I have delt with time and time again in both the writing and art world. The answer that touched me as a truth is: If you have been gifted with a thought or an image it is meant to be shared. We do not always understand what we are recieving from above :-) We are but a tool in the masterplan :-)

Since many of us will read them, I'd say they are very worthy, Karla.

And getting up at 1 AM to write is really fun, isn't it??!!!!
(Mine's usually 2AM now; I'm getting lazy in my old age, I guess.)

... and with questions, questions and dilemmas always to write about, your pen will NEVER run dry - tell it you need some sleep sometimes, though! :)) Get a duvet-cover that is tolerant of ink and is a good washer and your problem will be solved - not even having to get out of bed. Trouble is readin it in the morning... yeah, I am only just starting to realise that the "simplest"-seeming constructions are probably the ones over which we agonise the most. Pertinent and well-argued as usual, dear Scribe. LOL sKribbler Kate xx
