GW blames the Democrats for not supporting the troops while it's plain to see that he is the one who could care less about their well-being. The democratic-led congress is now calling all the Bushits onto the carpet. The day of reckoning has come!
It is a sad fact swept under too many carpets for too long a time, and now it is coming to the forefront, I applaud you for this poem and your prior service! WTG! Karla...
Sadly, this is so true. Well penned, Karla. Let's all see if we can make the difference, make the necessary changes! Let's be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

As wars become the normal in a world that constantly says it wants peace, as we lose more and more good people to enemies that have no value for human life, as problems mount and answers are few and far between, we do forget the ones, that make it possible for us to enjoy the freedoms which, many other countries, do not give their citizens.Yes, we have forgotten too many times our soldiers and the Native Americans, We have forgotten so many in this country, including our honored veterans.And maybe if we could just stop long enough to think, we might remember, when we look into their faces, what we are fighting for and the cost of freedom. We need to honor all our promises.
This is difficult to read, especially since we as a nation no longer seem to care for those who gave their all to defend all that we hold dear. We care more about what happens to those who come to our nation illegally than our own people, especially the veterans like yourself, the elderly, the poor, the handicapped--you get the picture. Sad state of affairs we have created for ourselves and for our very own people. Something drastic needs to be done to help those who served, and it's time we say: "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!" How about helping our own instead of us being the world's police?? Powerful cry for action, for change, for solutions! BRAVA, one of your best!!
Thank you for your service; you may feel like you haven't served (since you didn't leave Texas), but honey, you DID serve. You helped people who were hurting or suffering, and that is more than what a lot of people have done in their entire lives. You have made a difference, and God is watching out over you. Good things will happen to you for what you have done for our country; I salute you!

Far too true, I'm afraid, and quite painful to read in this, the Home of the Brave, the Land of the Free.
