I fight the darkening of the sky, The lowering of clouds, The rising of fear. Sometimes, a basement's available. Others - not on your life! Tornado coming!
Can hear it roaring in the distance - Don't see it, just hear it. Like dreams of falling: You know, when you hit the ground, you'll die? That scares me the most: will I wake up in time?
"Welcome To My Nightmare" yes conjurs up fearful images of such storms as only you can Storm Spinna'...heeeheee.
I don't know but do believe most people survive tornadoes if you think about how many there are these days.
Keep on clicking and keep on writing, hope this review finds you in the best of spirits. God continue to bless you and the family Dear One.
I understand the feeling of always keeping an eye on the sky, especially those of us who live in whats called tornado alley...
great writing Karla, stay safe!
love, Carole~
If I could, I will be there to tuck your blankets and tell you that all is well with a whisper that will make the nightmares go away, even the storm ones...
Yes, my friend it's the landing that does everyone in. If we were Olympians then sticking the landing would be a challenge but we're not and the best we can do is hope and pray. Just trying to add a little humor. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
Here, in Italy we have the occasional earth tremor. In Connecticut, where I'm from, incredible snow storms. My mom, whom I'm going to be visiting next week, lives in Florida and has to deal with hurricanes. No matter where you live, there's weather to contend with! Don't let the fear stop you from living Karla! But then again, your fear has helped you write some incredible poetry! And what a fantastic photo!
Karla, if I could give you and Karen my basement I surely would. Do you see the basement you make yourself every day in your poems? Sure it is only symbolic, but is that not very very significant. Great work.
Come on out to visit me in California, dear Karla. They say we have a dozen earthquakes every night. Other experts say that some day California will just break off and float out into the Pacific.
To be candid, I haven't felt a tremor for fifteen years. I just sleep through the night dreaming of the violent shakings of yesteryear. But maybe I'm confused. Maybe I'm just remembering my younger days when even my bed would quake at the sight of stud like me. Memories of youth are often self-deceiving.
Still, I remember vividly my days in the mid-West and the roar of the approaching train in the sky. Tain't fun at all.
Thanks but no thanks, Karla. Keep your nightmares to yourself, please. I'm panicked at the sight of your words.
LOL at Susie's review below...NOT laughing at you, Susan, but the invitation to the Hurricane and Lightning Capital of the World....LOL Plus you get tornadoes and have mosquitoes the size of 747's...LOL SERIOUSLY, though, a vacation in Florida does sound nice! :)
And Karla, you pegged a terrifying peek into the world of the stormphobic's realm of neverending fear! Powerful write and illustration! Very well done, Storm; brava!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twink, Karen Lynn. :)
Watch Out! Svr wx season loomin'---just what you wanted to hear...NOT!! LOL
I can't imagine never being secure because of the weather. If you and your sis ever want to move...come on over to Florida. We have hurricanes but we know when they're coming.
Blessings and love,
Susan
Sexuality is very misunderstood. What if the tornado dropped Dorothy not into Oz, but onto the shooting set of an X-rated film?
Eric Edwards makes sex films. Period... Sex-on-command. Sex-for-hire.... So begins the story of Eric Edwards, Mr.
This book is a collection of short stories that depict events in Author's life while she lived in Romania, then in Greece, and last in America. It's a beautiful and very sincere account of a young woman's life and comming to age.
