All the Veterans should converge on Washington, without shouts, without signs, just holding an Old Glory and singing again and again "The Hymn of the Battle for the Republic" until all the Nation joins in and chase away all the politician pharisees.

Where's freedom in a criminal society? We have reports of murders, etc. EVERY NIGHT on our local news (Albuquerque).

This pours compassion and passion from the words... and a great reminder to us all that they are, each one, amazing for what they do that so many of us never could.
The poetic structure you use, Karla, seems perfect for this... truncated, like the missions, yet, collected, like the comraderie. This is just great!
