excellent rant. most pay more in taxes than I live on in a year, but I remember God is my sufficiency and there is food on the table and a roof over my head. Pity their souls when they face their maker...

KARLA - pardon my 'french' - but you've heard me say it more than once before -

politicians = lying greedy RAT-BASTARDS ...

EVERY TIME THEY 'THROW A BONE ' to the little guy - it's like a philanthropist who is worth BILLIONS donating a mere Million $ 'out of the goodness of his heart' to something -
they get all the media hooplah AND a healthy TAX DEDUCTION to boot!

Well done Karla. They are throwing scraps to starving dogs, please excuse the image here but it is pathetic the way most of your citizens are treated. We need to take a lesson or two from some of our immigrants, I'll speak for Canadian immigrants here. They pool their resourced, often living together in one house while setting each other up in business, or by paying to educate some of the kids in high paying professions. They live in community not in isolation where everyone is forced to fend for themselves. In a system such as this, no one goes hungry and no one does without. I have East Indian friends and I love the way they look out for one another. We need to do the same. Hugs, J'nia

A worthy rant it is! These little tidbits are like crumbs that tease the tastebuds to make us wish there was more. I do believe in free enterprise and people working for what they get, but when I see our tax dollars going to executives in great amounts I certainly want to holler and rant, too.

I hear ya, but having visited numerous VA hospitals and veteran cemeteries over the years, I can tell you that many of them are in abysmal shape, and they need vast improvement.

As for the $250, I agree, it ain't much at all, but compare it to what Bush gave our vets -a Big $0.

$250 to keep our heads above water for a week or so. In the long run, too many will still drown however. I hear Brack's going to change our type of government's name next. Something to the effect that, "We will no longer live in a Democracy here. The United States of America will now become an "Obamanism." Sound familiar? God have mercy on us all.
