Congratulations on maintaining your sobriety for all this time. You are an inspiration and I, for one, am glad you decided to hang on through it all. Rebecca

How strange, Karla, that people belonging to Authors Den, those that we read every day and those that we may think we know, only discover the hidden life, the hidden horror of the life of those we may think we know. So sorry for your far distant past and so proud of your strong resolve for the past twenty-five years. It is with pride that I call myself...

Strong and sincere message for all who have fought and continue to fight the battle of the amber bottles.

Wonderful poem Karla. I am pretty much in the same boat. I suffer from a three-fold malady: mind, body, spirit. It can only be treated by chemicals or a spiritual higher-power effecting a psychic change. I choose the latter. The former "solution" blew right up in my face. But it's all I knew at the time. Everyone has their path. "We don't regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it."
Karla I am proud of you, many couldnt have been through what you've been through and stayed sober, but for the Grace of God, you are here telling your story, and I thank you

Your honesty is quite refreshing! You must know that this is quite an accomplishment. I just love the photo you chose, it is perfect!

Karla, has anyone told you lately what an incredible and brave lady you truly are?
