uniform ---- don't we matter?
Might not have saw war or
been injured in battle, but we
are soldiers and Veterans,
too. We hurt just as much as
our brothers and sisters in
arms do. And when you

don't disregard our pain or

There are a lot of situations in the news that enrage me. One phrase in particular is: homeless veteran. Not words that should ever have to be put together in one sentence, if you ask me. Great voice in this poem. You are not forgotten. Love and Hugs,

Karla, the current U.S. federal government representatives, the administration, congress, supreme court et al have displayed of late a disdain for the most courageous Americans of every decade in our existence as a nation. Our dedicated, selfless men and woman serving and those that have served with great honor in the armed forces. The words and deeds of the poiticoa are a disgrace to our way of life and those in uniform. You tell this story with a heart that has been saddened by the events and you tell it from the perspective of one who proudly served. My thanks will never suffice for the sacrifices you and the rest have made for our nation. I offer them still. Love and peace to you my dear friend. Jon Michael
I have a lot of respect and admiration for the men and women who are fighting for and have fought for the ideals of our nation. I saw a bumper sticker once that said, "No Verterans, No Freedom". That is so true because where would we actually be without our armed forces veterans. And it doesn't matter if the person who wore the uniform carried a weapon or not, what matters is they served our country and the ideals we stand for.
I say HOORAY FOR THE VETERANS because without them, I might not be free today. Thank you Karla for sharing this wonderul poem.

THE BACKLOG OF VETERANS' CLAIMS AT VA NOW EXCEEDS 1,000,000 - 1 MILLION!
NO MATTER WHAT 'GOOD' IF ANY, OBAMA & CONGRESS HAVE DONE THUS FAR - THEY HAVE EITHER 'DROPPED THE BALL' - FUMBLED - OR - ARE TURNING A DEAF EAR TO ALL OF OUR VETERANS!
SHAME! FIE! NOVEMBER 2ND IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING ... REMEMBER THESE FACTS, AND VOTE ACCORDINGLY!

I disagree with Peter. I don't think it is hardship that motivates young men and women to serve in the military. Doesn't anyone remember 9-11? I think "they" do and that is why they joined and are continuing to join. Yes, the VA should do better, but they should have been doing better all along, but they never have.

It's shameful the way this country treats its veterans. I almost wonder why anybody would even bother signing up anymore. I mean, what's thr point? I suppose much of it has to do with economic hardship these days and many people join the military for lack of better options. Anyway, thank you very much for YOUR service Karla. Wishing you all the best always.
AMEN, Karla, AMEN! Shame on U.S. for forgetting those (like you) who served in peacetime and never even saw war! Yet you fight your own battle with pain, and it appears that the enemy is going to win because the damn VA doesn't want to do anything to help you. Sad!
