' ... He has become a trusted companion and friend, .... '

Poem Artwork

I didn't want to get close
to him, but I was left with
no choice. He is never far
from my side. He is there
to help me up when I fall.

He doesn't laugh or tease,
and he is great at keeping
secrets. He doesn't argue
or talk back when I get
mad and tell him I don't

ever want to see him
again. It's gotten to the
point where we are
considered husband and
wife, we've been together

so long. Guess it will be
that way until death do
us part: when I bring up
divorce, he just reminds
me that he's always been

faithful. Yes, he has. He
has become a trusted
companion and friend, a
partner. Let me introduce
him to you: meet my cane.
