This is beautiful in its simplicity. Your writing never calls for a picture. Everything you put into words stands on its own and allows images to form in our imaginations.
Well, knock me down with a feather!! What glorious creative fusion is here... it is so rare that you illustrate your work with visuals - and usually your own - but this is utter perfection. Totally heart-melting work - as others have said, like the finest, most delicate porcelain that could be shattered by the merest breath. This seems almost hallowed. Perfect balance and hushed tone. Yes. Beautiful. Just Beautiful. Seems like our minds have been wired up over the past 24 hours; Rising is another from my Spanish Bag (harder to spot this year, huh?!) and, would you believe, as well as Louis MacNeice, Louise Gluck and Brigit Pegeen Kelly, I also ended up reciting Creatures of the Dawn yesterday, too? Seamless couplets+, Jude, articulating the immeasurable powers of Love as the source of all Creation, imparted to us this morning with the forceful gentleness of a poetic lovers' kiss.
