I wrote this for the Mayor of Roswell to kick off the Dr. Seuss for President rally Comments and additions are welcome...The pic is Dr. Seuss, not the Mayor...
I WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME YOU ALL TO THE DR. SEUSS FOR PRESIDENT CAMPAIGN.
Although, the good Dr. himself couldn’t be with us today, he authorized me to say a few words on his behalf.
I KNOW HE IS A BIT LATE AT THROWING HIS HAT INTO THE RING, BUT HE DIDN’T HAVE A HAT HANDY AND HAD TO CHASE DOWN THE CAT TO GET ONE TO THROW.
DR. SEUSS USED HIS WHACKY CHARACTERS AS A METAPHOR FOR ISSUES THAT continue to plague mankind today.
DR. SEUSS IS THE candidate with a firm grasp on the HUMANITARIAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL problems, we face, and will wage battles for his you, his constituants.
Dr. Seuss was the pioneer of the “GREEN MOVEMENT….THE LORAX GIVES US AN EXAMPLE OF THE INSATIABLE GREED AND ENSUING DISREGARD FOR THE ENVIORNMENT IN THE NAME OF CORPORATE PROFITS.
Dr Seuss’s foreign policy, was earth shattering, Yet so simple it is brilliant.
AFTER PUBLISHING “THE BUTTER BATTLE", a book about the lunacy of the arms race during the cold war era, Dr. Seuss was asked if he was a pacifist, His reply was:
“I’M NOT ANTI-MILITARY, JUST ANTI-CRAZY”.
He knew there would ultimately be no winner, only casualties.
HIS LIFE WAS DEVOTED TO EDUCATING GENERATIONS OF CHILDREN, NOT ONLY TO READ, BUT ALSO TO BE USEFUL TO THE WORLD.
IN SUMATION, A VOTE FOR DR. SEUSS IS A VOTE FOR EQUALITY, LITERACY, AND FOR RECOGNITION OF THE INDIVIDUALTY OF ALL MANKIND.
Interesting people with a great life experience, coming from different backgrounds, symbols of wisdom and tolerance, that's something we all need. Lovely article! And I agree with L.Lofthouse... read his comment!

It's worsening, indeed, and for me, a truly 'Green Candidate' would be most welcome. But all we seem to get are oily grey.

Dr. Seuss was a wonderful teacher for children. And as you point out, for adults too. This provides meaningful insight to his work. And if he were alive today, president...possibly.

I vote that we research and find a Dr. Seuss virus and spread it to all humanity over the entire earth. Having Dr. Seuss only in America is not enough. The good Doctor must be everywhere--even in the tribal villages in Pakistan and deep into Russia and North Korea. I think he's already working in mainland China. The mainland government just doesn't know it yet.
Sorry but my vote goes to Rufuz for President, he says a "bone in every bowl" sounds better than anything else I've heard from anyone else...by the way, tell that guy Georg that insanity runs in our family so whether he is on the inside or outside doesn't matter...

I am sure I am one of the crazy ones...but I can truly not say I am Anti-MILITARY either...because each country need SOMEONE to fight the battle for the crazy idea behind the battle!!
