~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After work, Rose had gone out with her friends,
To a local bar and as the night wore on, they had met two men.
Drinks and flirting, had suddenly changed the plans,
Rose became odd woman out and fate was taken from her hands,
Sloppy kisses and plans made for a roll in the hay,
Made friends abandon a friend, they would leave and Rose would stay.
Rose begged her friends not to leave her alone,
She didn't have her car and had no way home.
They grew angry and finally flipped her the bird,
They got up and left with the men, not saying a word.
In desperation Rose chased after their car,
They zoomed away and Rose's attempt to catch them didn't get her far.
She walked to a pay phone and tried to get a ride,
But no one answered and Rose bitterly cried.
A predator was out seeking for prey,
He saw her crying while passing her way.
He told her that he couldn't stand to see a woman cry,
He seemed so caring, so she took his offered ride with a sad sigh.
At first they made small talk, all was going swell,
When suddenly it turned into a ride to Hell.
He began pawing her body demanding a kiss,
Rose began to fight, scream and resist.
He stopped the car, pulling her out, throwing her on the ground,
It was a deserted dark road, she screamed for help, but no one was around.
He produced a knife and began to stab,
Rose screamed in agony with each jab.
She lay in a bloody heap,
The harvest of pain she was forced to reap.
He grabbed a sledgehammer from his trunk and kept hitting Rose in the head,
He kept hitting her till she was dead.
He wiped the blood from his hands and then drove away,
Rose's body was found the next day.
Rose's friends had a change of heart, they now come around,
But Rose doesn't know it, cause she is six feet underground.
So sad. Too many monsters roam our streets and haunt the bars seeking unsuspecting victims.
SC this is such a heart wrenching tale and knowing it's true adds to the pathos. Well penned.
STrong and frigtening story SC, and those so called friends should be real proud of themselves. In this day and age if three women go out together they should always stay together and watch out for each other. One night stands can't replace friends.
