"He Said, She Said !"

And then he said,
And then she said,
Words were heard,
meanings unclear.
He said "I loved you"
She said "Me too"
Words were heard
meanings unclear.
He said, "Do you?"
She said, "I dunno"
Words were heard
meanings unclear.
He said, "Can you?"
She said, "Not sure"
Words were heard,
meanings unclear.
He said "Screw You!"
She said "SCREWED YOU!"
Words were heard,
Meaning very clear.
Author's notes: I just read a very absurd play that had double meanings, and bizarre characters in it. This evolved as a message. I feel that sometimes we say things with double meanings and often times we give out wrong impressions..I believe this was a love gone wrong, but two people who could not really say how they were still feeling, because of the rawness of the break up..

I'm not one for double meanings...well ok maybe in poetry I am-because like I don't have a hard time making up my mind well yes I do LOL
am I being misunderstood when I write something or express a thought??

Amber, I believe we are all guilty of this, many times words can be misunderstood because of the way it is said and I too believe we definitely give out wrong impressions many times and we're not even aware of it. I enjoyed this!
I enjoyed this one and had to agree with your impressions Amber, all too often we coach what we say or even say the complete opposite of what we feel for fear of rejection or dejection. Sad but unfortunately the answer we get is often said the same way.
You are so right--people do give out wrong impressions, which make communication a tricky endeavor. Inferences, perceptions, feelings, attitude, and about a million other things tend to come into play in even the most insignificant conversation. You got your message across in your poem. Very thought provoking.
Communication breakdown - not limited to lovers. It happens everyday, at work, at home, at play. I'm as guilty as the next person - think the other should be able to read between the lines or at least a mindreader.
