A taste of Karena's thoughts after Tomas's death.

"Eagle Soaring" by Amber "V" Moonstone 2/09/08 The riverbed overflows the eagle soars the buffalo roams but you are not here anymore. Where has my Tomas gone? The Great Spirit called to you and you went with open eyes toward the white light of the elders. Time has erased your tenderness Your touch no longer exists Your voice is a faded memory and your kiss is as dry as the earth. I can no longer wait for your return I can no longer feel your heart beating I can no longer live without love I can no longer mourn your departure. I shall begin a new life I shall love a new warrior I shall open my soul only to you; I shall deliver your baby, Tomas.. You left during the forest fire, I suffered much pain and havoc but in the end I remain alone without my beloved warrior, you, Tomas. You left me full of your seed, and a son I have bore for your memory. He has the darkness of your eyes, and softness of your lips. I shall cherish this boy, He shall know his father, Protection and honor shall be bestowed upon his life. I call him "Eagle Soaring" He shall be a proud chief fulfilling his father's legacy and bring vibrant change into the tribe. Karena, Eagle Medicine Woman February, 1608
